绣山讲坛第343讲 Vibration problems in Mechanical System

作者:   已浏览:63次 更新日期:2024-05-08

报告题目:Vibration problems in Mechanical System

报告时间:2024 年5月9日 ,星期四 14:00-16:00

报告地点:龙赛理科楼南楼519会议室

主讲人:Professor Francesco Pellicano  University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, Modena, Italy

摘要: The seminar aims to offer an overview of various vibration phenomena present in mechanical systems with diverse natures and characteristics: from nano to large  scale. It delves into the impact of vibration phenomena and also explores experimental techniques. The seminar will show recent scientific studies on the following specific topics: mechanical transmissions,  passive suspensions and isolation systems,  active vibration control, anti-seismic devices,  bio-engineering. A segment of the seminar centers on mechanical transmissions, particularly gear vibrations. It scrutinizes modeling and testing techniques,  alongside diagnostic and prognostic methods. Numerical techniques are discussed and compared with Standards and Codes, which currently serve as the conventional design tools. The seminar also covers methods for mitigating the effects of vibrations,  with a particular focus on new isolation systems that leverage nonlinearities to enhance filtering performance. The talk also addresses the vibration characteristics of meta-structures and metamaterials, providing examples of their applications. A novel technique for alleviating Parkinson's disease and essential tremors is introduced, leveraging mechanical modeling of the human body and its response to electrical stimuli.

主讲人简介: Francesco Pellicano obtained his  MS degree in  Aeronautical Engineering and  Ph.D.  in  Theoretical  and   Applied Mechanics at the “La Sapienza”  University of Roma in Italy. He is currently Full Professor at the University of   Modena and  Reggio Emilia in Italy where is the Head of the Intermech research center for mechanics.  He is a member of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts. He is the incoming Secretary and Award Committee Member of the Applied Mechanics Division (AMD) of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME). He is the General Chair of the International Symposium on Vibrations of Continuous Systems and the Track Chair at the 2024 IMECE Congress of the ASME. His research activities are in mechanical vibrations, fluid-structure interaction, nonlinear vibrations of shells, gear dynamics and vibration control.
